Encourage Someone Else By Sharing!

Have you ever stood in a room full of people and felt invisible?  Of course, this is not “The Incredibles,” and no one can actually be invisible in a room full of people, but there are times when you can certainly feel that way.

In those moments, it feels as if everyone is being chosen to advance except for you.  The moment you log onto the gram, comparison strikes. Everyone is advancing in their career, finances, ministries, and relationships.

To sum it up, you feel “overlooked.”

I know that familiar feeling of being overlooked, and if I can put it into two words, it would be, “it sucks.”  One day in prayer, the Lord gave me these few words, “Overlooked, but seen by God.”

Those words were few but still said so much.  Before falling into a pit of rejection, consider this.

God Is Hiding You On Purpose

We all know that God is strategic and that God does not wing it.  Every plan is carefully and meticulously thought out.  That includes this season of your life.

Yes, I know there are days when you do not feel like you are chosen by Him. Still, we can not live by our feelings.  Have you ever considered that you are hidden on purpose?

Think of a seed that goes into the ground.  When that seed goes deep, deep, deep into the soil, this seed is intentionally hidden from everyone and everything.

Seemingly lost in the soil, this is done to protect the seed until the appointed time. The seed needs to become properly rooted into the ground so that the tree inside the seed will begin to sprout.

The persons trampling on the soil and the naked eyes are unaware of the existence of the seed. Although seemingly invisible, the seed is actually in process. In this same way, you are not being overlooked, but hidden on purpose.

God Is Observing Your Obedience

The beautiful thing is that no matter who cannot see you, God always does.  Perhaps this is the greatest comfort that you can ever have.

God sees each time you have been obedient.  He sees when you make the right decisions when no one is looking.  He sees when you serve those around you.

While it builds a sense of achievement to get a “good job” from those around you, it’s an even greater honor to hear a “well done” from God.

Whenever I’m in a place of discouragement, I remember everything that I do is unto the Lord, and as long as I am walking out His plan for my life, I am in the best place possible.

That includes the job with the difficult boss or a season of singleness or serving at a ministry that has its challenges.

The most beautiful part of working as unto the Lord is that your rewards will always come from the one that you work for.

God Is Strengthening Your Faith In Him

When I was a child, my mother traveled a lot.  Each time she traveled, she was sure to gift me with the toy of my desires.  On one particular trip, she arrived home with no toy in hand.  She explained that she simply could not find that specific toy.

Can I tell you, I did not care. I was still upset, threw a tantrum, and acted like a spoiled little brat.  I basically turned on my mom for a toy lol.  My mom always gave me what I wanted; therefore, I did not know how to act when I did not get what I wanted. I built a sense of entitlement.

On the other hand, God is not in the business of raising spoiled children.  Rather than giving you every single thing that you want when you want it, God is building your faith in Him, not what He can give you.

If I had faith in my mom as a provider, I would not throw a tantrum because I would know that she would do everything in her power to give me what I needed.

Once you have a firm foundation of who God is and confidence that God is faithful (1 Thessalonians 5:24).  He is not a liar (Numbers 23:19). God loves you (John 3:16).  That He cares for you (Romans 5:8), even in seasons where you feel invisible, this confidence will preserve you until his promises and plans for your life come to full fruition.

In every individual lies a solution for this world and, more specifically, this generation.  I know that there are tough days, and it’s not always easy.  Yet, believe with all your heart that God has a plan.  You are not being overlooked. As you walk with God, one day you will look back, and it will all make sense.

I am sending you lots and lots of hugs and love!

Until next time…

Be strong, Be Courageous, Serve God Wholeheartedly.
