Encourage Someone Else By Sharing!

It is officially the first blog of 2019 and I am so grateful to have crossed over into something new.  During this time of year, the excitement and anticipation is everywhere. People are planning, organizing, and goal sharing.  Then there is me.  For the first time in a long time, I have absolutely no idea what this year will look like.  Like so many others, 2018 has dealt some blows that I just did not see coming. If you find yourself in this same position of the unknown with no idea where to start, do not feel discouraged or sad. There is still hope for us yet.

Start by taking it one day at a time. Most of us have the tendency of over analyzing and gazing years into the future.  This dance with what could be only grows into fear that speaks.  Fear shouts, “You will always be in the same position you are in now.”  Instead of focusing on these words, focus on getting through the day.  Set mini daily goals that will get you closer to where you want to be.  If you are seeking a peace of mind, read one scripture on peace.  If you want to start a business, spend a few minutes researching.  There is an African Proverb that says “The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.”  In other words, the only way to get from where you are to where you are going is one step at a time.  The greatest of journeys all started with one step.

While taking steps, do not neglect to hold onto your faith.   During the most difficult of moments in 2018, faith is the only thing that carried me to the other side.  There were times when I felt like I was completely done, but I had to hold on to what I knew. I could not wait for my feelings to catch up to my knowledge.   When the walls were closing in, faith reminded me that for as long as I am breathing, there are better days ahead.  No matter what 2019 brings, let your faith do the talking while you do the walking.  Your faith will be the game changer that will invite God to do what seemed impossible in your life.

Speaking of God, do not forget to keep Him at the center all 2019.  Since we have no idea of what 2019 looks like, we need insight from the God that goes before us.  The God that knows everything.  The God that has already written every page our lives.  This can only be done by having daily talks with God.  Every day will not be the same, but from personal experience daily talks with God soothes the soul.  It is during those moments He drops nuggets, ideas, comfort, and peace that can only be obtained by His Presence.

So let’s make a deal.  No more gazing at everyone else’s 2019 goals feeling like you are completely lost.  There are plans that God has and they are specific to you.  Take baby steps, Stay in Faith, and Hold on to God.  This formula is a guaranteed win not just for 2019, but for the rest of your life.

Until Next Time,

Be Strong, Be Courageous, Serve God Wholeheartedly
